Television Channel Branding

Branding

Design Problem

The challenge was to create a distinct and cohesive brand identity for a new subscription television channel called Journale. The project required a logo, colour palette and style guide, along with a promotional campaign that worked across TV, print and digital platforms. The aim was to build a professional and innovative brand that stood out among factual networks while staying visually unified across all media.

Concept Development

The Journale identity was inspired by ideas of progress and forward thinking. I designed a logo featuring a stylised letter J within a circular yellow and orange gradient, contrasted with black for balance and sophistication. The J includes an arrow element to suggest direction and growth. The warm palette conveys energy and optimism, with the yellow to-orange gradient also serving as a visual motif of the sun, reflecting the channel’s focus on innovation.

Design Solution

Using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign, I developed a complete brand that could adapt across formats. Adobe Illustrator was used to refine the logo, experiment with gradients and balance negative space for a clean finish. Adobe InDesign compiled the final style guide showing applications across TV screens, print layouts and digital mock ups. The result is a modern, professional identity that positions Journale as a confident and credible television channel.
