Gamit Magazine
Print Design

Design Problem
The design problem was to create a striking and visually engaging magazine cover for Gamit, a new gaming publication concept. The brief required a design that would capture the excitement and creativity of the gaming world while appealing to a broad audience of players and enthusiasts. The challenge was to develop an original visual identity that balanced illustrative energy with professional magazine design standards.
Concept Development
I explored how character design could serve as the central storytelling element of the cover. Inspired by cyberpunk and harlequin aesthetics, I developed a bold female character wielding a mallet to symbolise power, rebellion and individuality. Through sketches and digital drafts, I experimented with vibrant colour palettes, angular forms and layered compositions to build visual energy and depth. This process helped shape a dynamic and futuristic concept that embodies the fast-paced, imaginative nature of gaming culture.
Design Solution
Using Adobe Illustrator, I refined the illustration and typography to create a polished, high-impact magazine mock-up. I combined vector shading, gradient overlays and custom textures to add realism and intensity to the artwork. The Gamit masthead features a stylised “M” shaped like a game controller, tying the logo to its gaming theme. The final composition integrates bold graphics, expressive lighting and cohesive branding elements to deliver an immersive and professional front cover design that reflects innovation and creativity within the gaming industry.
